What is Dry Riser Servicing?

Dry riser systems are an essential fire safety feature within multi-storey buildings, providing firefighters with immediate access to a reliable water supply on upper floors. The system consists of inlet valves at ground level and outlet valves on each floor, allowing fire crews to connect hoses and deliver water quickly in the event of a fire.

Dry risers fall under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which requires the Responsible Person to ensure that all fire safety systems are properly maintained and in efficient working order. Servicing is carried out in accordance with BS 9990 standards.

Dry risers must undergo visual inspections every six months and a full pressure test annually. The annual test ensures the system can withstand operational pressures and confirms there are no leaks, blockages, or faults that could compromise performance during an emergency.

Our servicing includes thorough inspection of inlet and outlet valves, pipework, landing valves, and signage, ensuring the entire system is fully operational and compliant. We provide clear certification and reporting following each service ensuring that the systems meet current standards.
